As a fledgling information specialist , I was lucky enough to be an intern in the Research Data Management department. In the five months of my internship, I gained a deep and profound understanding of the intricacies and best practices of data management, and the tools and techniques to communicate these concepts to the Harvard Medical School Community. I was able to work closely to assist with outreach meetings, resource curation, and database management, as well as see the development and implementation of numerous institution-wide initiatives. There truly was no better place to learn about the present and future of data management. I want to thank the collective RITS team for creating such an open and welcoming environment, where questions were always welcome and growth always supported. I am very grateful for all their help in turning a data neophyte into a research data lifecycle master.
